Work on being a good pickleball player from all over the pickleball court. You could find yourself in any position and in any location on the pickleball court, so work on shots from every such position and location.
One good drill to work on hitting from every spot on the court is to start at the baseline with your partner standing at the Non-Volley Zone or Kitchen Line directly across the net from you. Have your partner feed you a “faux” return of serve. Strike the return of serve with a third shot drop or drive. Instead of rushing to the Non-Volley Zone or Kitchen Line, slowly move in so that you are “caught” in the Transition Area. Hit a fifth shot drop or drive and, again, slowly move in. Work yourself all the way to the Non-Volley Zone or Kitchen Line, play out the point with your partner, and repeat the drill starting at the baseline.
Key Takeaway:
1. Drill, drill, drill from every spot on the pickleball court!
