Targets for the Overhead When Compromised
1m 50s
One of the biggest mistakes that players make is overplaying shots, including overplaying overheads. This is especially true when you may be slightly compromised or not have as much time as would like to strike the overhead.
When you feel compromised on the overhead:
1. Go with the natural angle of your swing, which will be from right to left for a righty, and from left to right for a lefty; and
2. Aim for the middle of the court, which gives you the most room for error and will help you to reduce unforced errors.
When you are compromised, do not overplay your shot. Keep it simple!
Key Takeaways:
1. Be careful not to overplay your overhead.
2. If you feel pressure, go (a) with your natural angle of your swing; and (b) for the middle of the court.
